In 2002 I went to Siberia on a consulting trip to train people to write reports for the stock exchange. As you can see from the pictures, dinner involved rather a lot of cheap vodka (bottles in the foreground of the picnic photo). Cheap vodka is deadly and not recommended.
It was the perfect time to visit. The snows had mostly melted and the mosquitos hadn’t hatched yet. The food was meat, fish, bread, dairy and potates with no vegetables or fruit. The climate does not allow for much vegetable growing and at that time no fresh produce reached this part of Siberia from outside markets.
