Going back to the past can be harder than it looks
Liz Green is desperate for a change. The Dot-Com boom is raging in the City of London, and she feels exhausted and out of her depth. Added to that, her long-term boyfriend, Sean O’Connor, is drinking too much and shows signs of going off the rails. Her brother Michael calls her with the news he has inherited a house in Ireland he needs to sell. On a whim, she agrees to buy it and, abandoning both Sean and the City, moves back to Ireland to start a new life.
When Sean’s attempt to win her back goes disastrously wrong, it forces Liz to find new ways to survive. Helped by her parents and Sean’s sister Nuala, she sets up a new business in Michael’s house and fights the local council for permits with the help of a handsome Irish lawyer. When Sean turns up, claiming to be reformed, Liz is torn between the chance of a fresh start and the pull of her past.
Is everyone who they claim to be? Can Liz make a go of her new life?
