Get your copy of Fighting Green

15 February 2023 by PJ Skinner Leave a Comment

Hi Folks, I hope you are all keeping warm in these Artic climes in the Northern Hemisphere. I’m staying indoors far too much, but then I am a bit of a whimp when it comes to cold weather. I’m also planning my new mystery series which I will send a seperate email about later. It will be called the Seacastle Mysteries and will be written under my PJ Skinner pen name (probably).
If it’s February, it must be book launch time! Fighting Green (under the pen name of Kate Foley), and set in Ireland, is now available on Amazon in ebook and paperback (both normal and large print). You can order the paperbacks from your favourite retailers too.
The book follows the affect of a life changing decision on Liz Green and her boyfriend Sean O’Connor. The theme is change, and whether you can successfully return to your past without blighting your future.

My Beta readers loved Fighting Green, so I hope you will too. I would love you to support me by ordering this book. The ebook costs about the same as a coffee and I hope you trust me to write something you love by now. 😊 Please feel free to share the link and tell your friends if they would like this book.
Going back to your past can be harder than you imagine
Liz Green is desperate for a change. The Dot-Com boom is raging in the City of London, and she feels exhausted and out of her depth. Added to that, her long-term boyfriend, Sean O’Connor, is drinking too much and shows signs of going off the rails. Determined to start anew, Liz abandons both Sean and her job, and buys a near-derelict house in Ireland to renovate.

She moves to Thomastown where she renews old ties and makes new ones, including two lawyers who become rivals for her affection. When Sean’s attempt to win her back goes disastrously wrong, Liz finishes with him for good. Finding herself almost penniless, and forced to seek new ways to survive, Liz is torn between making a fresh start and going back to her old loves. Her options diminish as the problems mount, and she doesn’t know who to trust anymore.

Can Liz make a go of her new life, and maybe find a second chance romance?

This is the third book in the Green Family Saga. If you like drama and romance in an Irish setting, you’ll love this follow up to Rebel Green and Africa Green.

Buy it now and immerse yourself in a good read.

Rebel Green is Out Now!

14 December 2020 by PJ Skinner Leave a Comment

I couldn’t wait any longer to share my latest book with you.

But will you like it? A fair question.

Here are some quotes from my beta readers;

‘it was brilliant piece of storytelling and full of great characters’

‘this is a very well written, very enjoyable and very exciting family saga.’

‘1970s Ireland is perfectly portrayed. This is a perfect read for anyone who loves Irish fiction.’

‘This book brought to life how political and religious grandstanding destroys innocence and lives. A truly great novel’

So what are you waiting for?

Researching Rebel Green

8 May 2020 by PJ Skinner Leave a Comment

Ireland in the 1960s and 1970s is the setting for Rebel Green which is the book I’m working on. I went to Ireland as a 6 year old child with my English parents and siblings, and stayed for almost 20 years. We lived through the years of the Troubles but were never directly affected by them. As teenagers, we did drink in a pub frequented by members of the Provos but the landlord used to advise us if any of them arrived so we could leave discretely.

The book will examine how being moved to a new country can affect a whole family. Small incidents can colour a childhood and create false perceptions leading to tragedy. I hope you will enjoy these photos of that time. Do you have any similar experiences to share? You can do this on my Author page at https://www.facebook.com/PJSkinnerAuthor/ or send me an email.
